wo years after beating Jamaica in the Gold Cup final, the U.S. men's national team (USMNT) and the Reggae Boyz cross paths once more. This time, however, the only prize at stake is the right to face Mexico in the final at Soldiers Field in Chicago on Sunday.
The defending champions were efficient but unspectacular during the group stages, but were nowhere near their best against minnows Curacao.

Weston McKennie's goal separated the two sides but USMNT will have to be a lot better against Jamaica, a team that has largely flown under the radar so far in the tournament and is looking to reach a third consecutive Gold Cup final.
The pre-tournament favorite alongside Mexico, USMNT lost its last meeting against Jamaica just before the start of the tournament and coach Gregg Berhalter emphasized his team was aware of the dangers posed by Jamaica.
"We've said all along the success of this team will be measured by if we're going to win this tournament or not," he said at a pre-match press conference. "We want to get to the final. We want to win the final. If you asked me a month ago, the answer would be the same.
"We think Mexico is the favorite for this tournament. We think it's a very strong team. We have a lot of respect for Jamaica, that's something we highlighted before this tournament as well."
USMNT has scored 12 goals in four games and is yet to concede, while Jamaica has just five goals to its name and has conceded three. Nevertheless, Berhalter insisted his men will not underestimate their opponents' attacking threat and singled out Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Leon Bailey as the man to watch.
"I don't think we've seen his best yet," he told ESPN. "I think he's got another gear. I've seen another gear in Germany, and it's just him getting integrated into the team, him feeling comfortable and being used in the right way. But I really like watching him play."

When and where is the game?
The second semifinal is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 3 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
It's the only game the home of the Tennessee Titans and of the Tennessee State Tigers will host in the tournament.

At long last India tasted defeat at this cricket World Cup. After winning six of their first seven games—the one against New Zealand was rained out—the 2011 champions lost to England on Sunday, as the hosts kept their World Cup hopes alive.
Against England, once again India's strategy raised eyebrows. Chasing a sizeable total of 338 runs, India scored just 28 runs in the first Powerplay, the slowest start of any team so far in the tournament.
"We should have been more clinical with the bat I suppose because the wicket was flat," Kohli told Sky Sports.

"Even we could have accelerated and got closer to the score, but their bowlers bowled well and executed their plans. Three-hundred-and-thirty-odd, we were very happy at the halfway stage that the wicket's flat and if we get off to a good start then we are pretty much in the chase which didn't happen."
Despite the 31-run defeat, India remains second in the table three points behind Australia who has played a game more. Virat Kohli's men will join the five-time World Cup winners in the semifinals with a win over Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, faces a must-win scenario as it has to beat India and then Pakistan on Friday while hoping New Zealand defeats England on Wednesday.

When and where is the game?

Bangladesh takes on India at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on Tuesday, July 2, with play scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. local time (5:30 a.m. ET).

The game will be broadcast in the U.S. by Willow TV and Hotstar, with a live stream available via Sling TV.

Match odds

Bangladesh has impressed in the tournament so far but remains a 4/1 outsider going into the game, while India is a 1/6 favorite.
According to Oddschecker, Virat Kohli is a 4/1 favorite to be the top run scorer in the game as he continues to look for an elusive first hundred at this World Cup. India's captain has passed 60 in five of the sixth games he has played so far but he is yet to notch a century in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has already achieved the feat three times and is a 5/1 shot to be the top run scorer in the game.

Form

After losing opening batsman, India will be without all-rounder Vijay Shankar for the remainder of the tournament. The 28-year-old missed the game against England on Sunday with a broken toe and will play no further part in this World Cup.

(Reuters) - England opener Jason Roy has been ruled out of Tuesday's World Cup match against Australia at Lord's after failing to recover from an hamstring injury in time.



Roy, who smashed 153 against Bangladesh earlier in the tournament, was injured in the win over West Indies 10 days ago and has missed games against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
A second scan on Monday morning showed Roy's injury was much improved, boosting hopes he will be fit to play in the match against India at Edgbaston on Sunday.
"It's all positive news, he won't be fit tomorrow but we will monitor his progress this week. We will see how it goes," England captain Eoin Morgan told a news conference on Monday.
"Of course he's a big loss, it's Jason Roy. He's an outstanding performer who epitomises the way we play as a group."

Morgan does not believe Tuesday's match is a "must-win" and has backed the players to deliver under pressure.
"We don't need to win every game to get to the semi-finals," he added.
"It's another game where we try and produce a performance that's worthy of an innings at Lord's against Australia.
"They have performed under pressure of being favourites for the last two years in (every) series that we've gone in, both away from home and at home, and have no question mark about producing under pressure."
